The AFSAI Mentorship Model emphasizes personalized, relationship-based mentorship over traditional course-based approaches. This model aims to transform the mentorship experience, focusing on 1-on-1 interaction and addressing the specific needs of mentees in a holistic manner. AFSAI is introducing a mentee-led structured mentoring program, aligning with the evolving needs of individuals. The program emphasizes engagement, live applied practice, and reflection, fostering a collaborative professional community.

Dr. Loveth Owhor, PhD.
Dr. Loveth Owhor is a BioResource Technologist, and Medical researcher. Her area of research is in Reproductive medicine, specialising on the female reproductive system where she investigated the novel work titled ‘ Inflammation in the Bovine Fallopian Tube: Effects on Tubal Functional Morphology and Gameto-Maternal Interaction’ utilising Live Cell Imaging. Her novel work has been published by Nature Scientific Reports Journal. Technical skills • Data collection, data entry, transcribing, data analysis & writing up reports • Cell culture and sterile techniques • Sample collection and preparation for microscopic imaging and analysis • Carrying out investigations on samples that enter laboratory and writing reports • Developing new methods of investigations and keeping up to date with diagnostic innovations
Assistant Prof. Olayinka Aremu
With over 12 years of experience in nursing education, community health, and clinical practice, I am an Assistant Professor at University College Dublin and a Chief Nurse Executive at a leading healthcare organization. I am currently undergoing my PhD in Healthcare Innovation from Trinity College Dublin, where I am co-designing a nurse-led integrated care transition tool for improved discharge communications of older patients. My core competencies include nursing leadership, transitional care, patient advocacy, evidence-based practice, and mentoring.
Dr K Mercy Ebenade
Kesiena is a pracademic, combining theory and practice. A reflective practitioner in the areas of different types of workplace learning – informal (on-the-job) learning, face-to-face learning, blended and online learning. Proven skills in managing and leading organisational change and partnered with operations team to deliver real measurable business benefit, using modern development techniques and performance improvement solutions at different stakeholder levels. Experienced in developing learning frameworks and performance development processes that utilizes both internal and external development opportunities for employees including coaching, mentoring, management and leadership development programs and learning initiatives. Sound experience in HRD and Organizational Development with over 15 years experience across multiple industries of which over 13 years was in the Human Resources function in an Energy & Utilities Management industry. Dr John Nutekpor
Dr. John Nutekpor is a scholar, educator and Performing Arts Practitioner with experienced skills as an event curator, musician, and dancer. He holds an MA in festive arts and PhD in Arts Practice from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick, Ireland. His research is focused on exploring Irish – Ghanaian cultural relationships with sustainable models of cultural integration. He has presented academic and performing arts workshops at national and international music and dance conferences over the past fifteen years. His experience in working with African migrant communities in Ireland played a crucial role in developing a festival called Afro-Irish festival. In recognition of his contributions to organising and curating, John has received several grants and awards including Ireland’s community integration grant 2023.
Dr. David Nyakule,
David has a PhD from Dublin City University and has conducted research on the political and development trajectories of African states, in addition to holding several degrees from other universities. He has taught International Development and African Society, and has presented at numerous conferences on African political and development issues, and co-founded the Mandela Global Development Debate for Irish third-level students. rior to the Fellowship, David was a teaching fellow for International Development at Kimmage Development Studies Centre and Maynooth University, focusing on the role of business, NGOs and state in development and on Africa and the international system. During this time, he was also a fellow at the Institute of Conflict Resolution and Reconstruction and taught at the Centre of Business, Society and Sustainability at Dublin Institute of Technology, Dublin City University.
